| MAY2006>>My
buddy Alex was at the Tate, and caught the May issue of
ModArt. He was kind enough to ship it over to me, and
I was pleased to see some nice coverage of the show in
Antwerp. Havec's name was put as a captain to my wood
cutouts, but that alright I suppose. He's a stand up fellow,
and we've been collaborating on a few pieces since. |

JUN2006>>Here's
a collaboration we did for a show Havec had in France.

| JUL2006>>In
other news...Piechocki & I walked our Baarber Ship from
the last show it was in at AI, and walked it to the Lake. The
Ecoli levels were too high, and the entire Lake was closed,
so we weren't allowed to get in. It was a blast of fun to work
on such a ridiculous project. A great way to relieve all the
stuffy & seriousness of the artworld. Let's just all chill
out a little, mattie. Aaargh. Be watching for the video soon. |

APR2006>>Here's
a few process shots of the collaboration I
did with Sonny. It was at Version Fest, and
traveled over to AI. We started with a 4x8
wood back, and went from there. It turned
out to be a healthy dose of layering. Sonny
has more shots of the piece here.
Peep the sweet details. Who knew cutting wood
could be such a blast?

| JAN2006>>These
are some flix from the show Chris Silva had, "No snowflake
in an avalanche ever feels responsible" in Milwaukee, WI.
You can see all his images here.
The back room was entitled "Public Display of Affection"
along with documentary photos of many peoples work, physical
pieces were also on tap. I was able to make it up for the opening
night through a blizzard, but was snowed in, and spent the night
in beautiful Milwaukee. |

"you
feel like you're the only one who has ever felt this
way, well we've all been there my friend, and we're
here for you now."
Original was cut out of cedar slats 34"x36".
One of my favorite pieces of recent. Very pleased that
it made it into N Wright's collection.
I wouldn't be doing my duty, if I didn't exploit myself,
and tell you how you can get some work. This is a giclee
archival print (guaranteed color fast for 100 years)
now available:
edition of 50, 14"x15" ($50 US)
edition of 10, 30"x32" ($150 US)
Email me for availability: sometimewordsarenotenough(at)yahoo.com
I also still have some work available through the backroom
of Foundation
Gallery in LA, CA. |

Here's some work I had at the New Chicagoans Exhibition
as part of the Select Media Fest. These are all MDF
with cut faux leathers adhered on top. A last minute
project. Came up with the idea Friday afternoon...They
were finished and dropped off to the gallery by Sunday
afternoon.

>>file under>>what next?

About
8 years ago I made a print entitled "*why i
do what i do." Years later, I'm still at the
same point. I was going through some old photos,
and found this process shot of a 'bling' piece I
did. This is of course before it was carved, cleaned,
and polished into a sparkling perfect piece. Maybe
a little to sterile. I was drawn to the look of
this, and may try to loosen up my craft a little...But
of course, still have pieces to show that I can
be as anal retentive as the next. |
